Tour Guide Program Coordinators

Caiya C. ’26
she/herExternal Operations Coordinator Major: EngineeringConcentration: Art/TheatreMachine Shop Proctor, South Dorm President (ASHMC), CuTE Lab
“As the External Operations Coordinator, I’ve gotten to coordinate with different communities at Mudd, making sure that both the tour guides and visitors get the most out of the program. I’ve loved having the space to expand our program for dorm/language tours to make it as inclusive as possible. But the best part of my job is working with this leadership team and hanging out with Corina :)”

Corina B. ’27
she/herInternal Operations CoordinatorMajor: MathematicsConcentration: Political ScienceHonor Board Disciplinary Chair, Ballet at Pomona and Scripps Colleges and Education Research
“Internal Ops allows me to analyze the processes of the HMC Admission Tour Guides to make them more efficient and reliable. I also have found it very exciting to see the internal workings of HMC Admission and meet all of our cool admission staff members! But the best part of my job is hanging out with Caiya :)”

Taylor B. ’27
she/herProgram Development CoordinatorMajor: Biology & ClimateConcentration: Science, Technology and SocietyResidential Life Mentor, Student Research with the Biology Department and Hixon Center, 5C Swim Club
“My favorite part of being a Head Tour Guide is getting to know the whole tour guide team, and the campus experiences which make their tours unique. Building relationships with people from all over Harvey Mudd is more rewarding than I could have imagined, and the students and staff involved in the Office of Admissions teach me to love this college more every day.”

“My friends and I always enjoy celebrating Halloween at Mudd! From seeing our professors dress up to competing in costume competitions to making little ghost stuffies in the Makerspace, there is always so much to do in honor of Spooky Season here. My friends and I also love going around experiencing the different student-run haunted houses set up by each of the Claremont Colleges!”

“During my first semester at Mudd, my friends and I did the Mudd Escapes club’s escape room at midnight during finals week. Even though we had work to do, we all took a break from studying to live the Pass-Fail Frosh life. We teamed up and beat the tasks, and have started a tradition of midnight escape rooms!”

“My favorite moment at HMC so far: the summer research poster session at the start of the spring semester is a wholesome event. During my poster session this year, I really got to reflect on the significance of the research I conducted with the Physics Department during my freshman summer. I also liked seeing my friends all dressed up and hearing what their research projects were about!”

Catherine B. ’28

“One of my favorite memories at Mudd was the first time I went to the Laemmle Theater, the local theater in Claremont. Thanks to the Muddwalkers Club, a club on campus that organizes walking trips to nearby spots, I went to see Wicked the night before it officially premiered with my friend Aresema. It was an amazing experience that not only let me explore Claremont but also helped me meet other students I might not have met otherwise.”

“My favorite memory at HMC was over the summer my friend Sophie got a free frozen turkey from a health clinic! We were up until midnight baking it, and then we ate it with our hands (and for the next two and a half weeks) 🙂
