Even though Mudd students have incredibly busy schedules, we still have the time to relax, spend time with friends, and take a break. The Ronald and Maxine Linde Activities Center (LAC), has a gym, game room, aerobics room, weight room (with gym equipment free for all students), relacsation room (with a massage chair and library!), lounge area, meeting and conference rooms, and a 24×7 computer lab. The computer lab is home to “grutoring,” a tradition special to the computer science department at Mudd that combines grading and tutors. Student tutors, vetted by professors, help other students get through difficult assignments and at the end of the week, grade them as well.
The LAC also offers Mudderbikes, basketballs, and Nerf Guns for students to check out. The LAC has a TV with an Xbox Live, plus local cable stations as well as Netflix and Hulu Plus. There are several fun PE classes, like Zumba or Pilates, held in the LAC, and often you can sit in on Claremont-Mudd-Scripps basketball or volleyball games! There are always Mudd students sitting in the lounge area playing video games or watching a movie. It’s a really nice place to take a break from the madness of work and have easy access to free 24×7 printing!
