Mudders Having Fun: Spring Break
April 13, 2022We have made it to the second half of the semester, and projects, studying for finals, and preparations for next year are all well underway. However, the spring semester comes with a built in break before the final weeks, which Mudders use in a variety of ways. I spent my Spring Break mostly on campus resting, but I also visited the California Botanic Garden (which is just a 15 minute walk from Mudd) several times. A lot of plants had just started to flower and were very beautiful! I also got pie from a shop in Claremont to celebrate Pi Day on March 14. To get an idea of the variety of fun things Mudders do during Spring Break, I asked the other Office of Admission social media interns what they got up to!

I visited my friend at USC and we went to the Descanso Gardens in LA together where there were lots of pretty flowers! I attended the Camp Mudd Orientation trip with Mikayla and a few other friends. We went to Disneyland and California Adventure where the CA food and wine festival was happening, enjoyed lots of delicious food and thrilling rides!

I went on the frosh/soph orientation trip to Disneyland (with Serena actually!) We went to both Disneyland and California Adventure, spending about 11 hours there. We used Genie Plus passes to optimize our time and ended up going on 9 big rides, including Space Mountain, Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout, and the new Star Wars Rise of the Resistance ride! We shared some delicious food at the Food and Wine Festival and made some amazing memories.

I stayed on campus most of the time, and I would say it was much needed and refreshing break! I watched the series “Inventing Anna” on Netflix, went on a Whale Watching trip organized by the 5Cs for the international students, and participated on Camp Mudd (which included the Disneyland trip, super fun!).

Over Spring Break, I went to Indian Wells (a tennis tournament) with my family. I’m not a very big tennis fan myself but my family is a little obsessed to say the least. It was fun spending time with them and hearing their commentary on the matches!

Over spring break I got to road trip and camp going up north along the coast. I went from Claremont to Pismo Beach, Big Sur, and Morro Bay. The weather was beautiful and it was amazing being by the beach!
