Peter Kagey

Peter Kagey, PhD,Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics, studies discrete, experimental, and recreational mathematics. He is especially interested in mathematical questions that come from puzzles and games and in using computers to help generate and prove conjectures. Since 2019, he has been an Associate Editor with the On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences.

Before coming to Mudd, Peter earned his PhD at the University of Southern California under Sami Assaf. At USC, he was a lecturer and teaching assistant for classes ranging from Calculus to Combinatorics, winning a student teaching award in his fifth year. Before graduate school, Peter worked as a backend software engineer for a medical device company.

Outside of work, Peter enjoys cycling, tennis, film, reading, cooking, and meals with family and friends.
