Electric Vehicle Charging Station

With assistance from a donation from Thomas H. Bleakney ’69, and Marcus L. Witte P’18 P’21, the College has three electric-vehicle charging stations available for HMC constituents in the northwest parking lot on campus (north of Parsons, west of the Shanahan Center). The Harvey Mudd College EV charging stations are a dual port ChargePoint system that can charge two vehicles simultaneously per station. The station rates are currently $.17/kWh for Harvey Mudd College constituents.

Drivers will have the opportunity to fully charge their vehicle, then 30 minutes to move their vehicle upon completion of charging. The app offers a waitlist queue for easy scheduling. Here is a video on How to Use ChargePoint Waitlist to Get in Line to Charge. Additionally, the charging stations have the ability to auto-queue meaning you can schedule to automatically join the waitlist at a specific time and day of your choosing. The EV parking stalls are for connected (i.e. plugged in) electric vehicles only; users will be charged for the time they are connected to the charging station whether or not their vehicle charging is complete. Please park in charging station stalls only if you have an electric vehicle and you are connected to the charging station. Once your vehicle is charged, please relocate your vehicle so others may use the station.
