Media Help for Faculty and Staff

The Office of Communications and Marketing assists faculty and staff with a variety of media and social media requests and best practices. If members of the media call, or if you have news that might be of interest to our community and/or the media, we are eager to hear from you.

Media Inquiries

When media call, we are here to help. We can provide:

  • Best practices and tips for conducting phone, written and broadcast interviews
  • Media training and mock interviews to help you prepare for media opportunities

Story Promotion

If you’ve got news about your research, teaching, student accomplishments or human interest stories, we are eager to collaborate with you to share the news. We can provide:

  • Assistance in writing, sharing and promoting your research, news and student life stories
  • Developing pitches to local and national media

Op-ed Assistance

Publishing an op-ed or a guest column on a timely issue is a great way to raise the College’s visibility. We can provide:

  • Assistance in crafting a compelling op-ed and/or review and editing of your draft
  • Assistance submitting and achieving placement for your op-ed

Faculty Experts Guide

Members of the media often seek quotable sources and subject matter experts for their articles. To help media find Mudd experts, and to help our office promote potential sources to media, we maintain a Faculty Experts Guide.
