  • Co-Leads Emergency Preparedness and Safety by guiding the College’s emergency planning and compliance efforts from a human-centered perspective.
  • Oversees the development, maintenance, and implementation of core safety compliance documents, including the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), and the Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP).
  • Leads the planning and coordination of annual and semi-annual emergency response drills, tabletop exercises, and safety training for incident response teams, functional units, and all employees.
  • Manages all accident and injury investigations and coordination of Worker’s compensation with TCCS, including annual OSHA 300A reporting.
  • Serves on the College’s Incident Management Team.
  • Serves as one of the Workplace Violence Administrators for the College.

  • Co-Leads Emergency Preparedness and Safety from a facilities and infrastructure perspective.
  • Serves as the primary F&M liaison to campus security.
  • Manages hazardous waste disposal and ensuring OSHA-24 compliance.
  • Oversees fire extinguisher servicing and coordinating lab hood certifications.
  • Maintains inventories and inspection schedules for safety equipment such as eyewash and shower stations.
  • Leads and coordinates infrastructure-related safety for events, such as 5C dorm parties, and serves as the primary contact for after-hours Campus Safety calls.
  • Oversees responses to daily campus safety reports and manages updates to lab safety signage and academic space use restrictions.
  • Serves on the Emergency Operations Plan Incident Support Team.
  • Serves as one of the Workplace Violence Administrators for the College.

  • Partners with the AVP-CHRO and AVP-FM to strengthen cross-functional coordination and maintaining a sustained emphasis on campus-wide safety and readiness.
  • Coordinates, oversees, and manages Cal/OSHA employee emergency preparedness and safety training.
  • Schedules, organizes and directs annual and semi-annual emergency response drills on campus.
  • Manages the recruitment and training of emergency building coordinators.
  • Ensures the ongoing maintenance first aid supplies and emergency contact lists.
  • Attends monthly HMC Safety Committee meetings and serves as the liaison to HR and Facilities, ensuring follow-up on action items and providing support as needed.
  • Serves on the Emergency Operations Plan Incident Support Team.
  • Serves as one of the Workplace Violence Administrators for the College.
