HMC
Visiting Campus

bikes and a view of the mountainsWant to know if you belong at Harvey Mudd College? The best way to find out is to come for a campus tour or overnight visit. With our sun-kissed California weather and proximity to mountains and beaches, it shouldn't be too painful. And you'll find our students, faculty and staff very helpful and welcoming.

Whether you just want to check out the campus or meet us face to face in an admission interview, we'd love to have you. While you're here, we'll keep you busy. You can sit in on a class, meet with professors and staff--anything you need to help you figure out if HMC is the place for you.

Campus Tours
Get the lay of the land with an hour-long tour of the HMC campus.  Schedule a tour at our online calendar.  To see a complete listing of tour times available on the date you'd like to visit, be sure to click on "More Events."  We also offer thirty-minute information sessions with an admission counselor; when you register for a campus tour, we'll sign you up automatically for this optional program.

Group Tours
HMC offers tours to visiting high school groups as space and scheduling permit (maximum size twenty-five students and chaperones).  For more information, please contact admission@hmc.edu.

Interviews
We don't require an interview when you apply, but we highly encourage it. Why? Because a website can only go so far in describing our unique college, and we'd love to sit down with you and fill in the blanks.  And we figure you'd like us to meet the person behind the application, too.  You can interview as early as the May of your junior year, but we'll probably have more to talk about if you interview during the summer before or the fall of your senior year.  (We do not offer interviews for seniors after late December.)  Again, please use our online calendar to schedule an interview, and be sure to click on "More Events" for a complete listing of available interview time slots.  Please remember that you'll need to register separately for the campus tour and interview.  If you can't come to campus but still want to interview, you may be able to connect with us when we come to your area. Overnight Visits (seniors only)
The best way to really get a feel for HMC-hang out with us. Think of it as one night to figure out the next 1,460. You'll crash in a Mudder's dorm room, meet the people, and eat the food (college lesson #1-never, ever turn down free food).

And while you're here, we'll make sure you're entertained.  Take a campus tour, schedule an interview, chat with HMC students, and sit in on a class -- you can check a schedule of selected classes in advance.

Overnight visits are for one night and are limited to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday only.  Since we want you to sit in classes, we only make overnights available from late September until Thanksgiving, and again from late January through February.  Only high school seniors may stay overnight.  Please call the Office of Admission at (909) 621-8011 or email at admission@hmc.edu at least two weeks in advance to plan your visit. It's helpful if you have an approximate idea of your arrival and departure times when you call to arrange your visit.  We recommend you plan to arrive for your overnight visit between 8 am and 4:30 pm.
