Family Orientation

Supporting our families and students from day one.

Family Orientation is an on-campus welcome for families and supporters on the day of new student move-in. It’s a chance to get oriented to the Harvey Mudd experience, meet the people and offices that will support your student and connect with other Mudd families as the year begins.

Key Dates for 2026

  • August 19: Summer Institute and First-Year International Student Move-in.
  • August 27: First-Year and Transfer Student Move-in. Move-in begins at 8 a.m. and family programming concludes at 6 p.m.
  • August 27–30: New Student Orientation. Events and sessions are for new students only.
  • August 28: Upperclass Student Move-in. There is no programming for returning students and families.
