Service Description
Google Meet is a premium video conferencing tool included seamlessly as part of your HMC Google Workspace account. We encourage all faculty, students, and staff to use Google Meet as your go-to tool for classes, committee meetings, study sessions, team projects, and departmental collaboration.
Because it is tied directly to your HMC account, Google Meet provides a much more seamless setup for your academic, administrative, and extracurricular needs, featuring:
- No Interruptions: Enjoy your meetings, lectures, and study sessions without any time limits.
- Built Right In: Schedule calls directly from your HMC Google Calendar and jump into meetings with one click. You can also start calls instantly from within Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets.
- Easy Collaboration: Share screens and collaborate on Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets in real time during your call.
- Hybrid Made Easy: For hybrid meetings with a mix of in-person and remote participants, you’ll find Companion Mode very useful for sharing screens and chatting without audio feedback loops.
- Canvas Integration: Google Meet is now fully integrated into Canvas and is enabled by default for your courses.

How to Access the Service
HMC Google Meet can be accessed by visiting meet.google.com, or by generating a Meet link directly inside your HMC Google Calendar, Canvas course, or Google Workspace apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
Enter your HMC Credentials username and password at the identity provider login screen. An HMC Credentials username followed by @g.hmc.edu should be used when logging in to an HMC Google Workspace account within an application or on mobile devices.
