Student Impact Luncheon *for scholarship and student support donors*
This lunch will honor our scholarship donors, student support donors, and student recipients. Enjoy lunch with President Nembhard as we celebrate the generosity of our donors and the remarkable accomplishments of our students.

Friday, May 1

8 a.m.–6:30 p.m.
Check In and Nametag Pick Up (Thomas Garrett Plaza)
If you’ve already registered, pick up your nametag, an updated schedule of events and other materials. If you have not registered, stop by On-Site Registration to complete registration.

8–11 a.m.
Continental Breakfast (Festival Tent)
Welcome! Start your morning by reconnecting with fellow alumni, faculty, and leadership over a continental breakfast.

8 a.m.–4 p.m.
AABOG Table (Festival Tent)
Get some official HMC swag and talk with your Alumni Association Board of Governors. Come early! Quantities of some items are limited.

10:30–11:30 a.m.
Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts Reception (TBD)
Join department Chair Darryl Wright and other members of HSA for a casual reception with HSA department faculty.

noon–1 p.m. 
Lunch with Faculty $ (Liquidambar Mall Tent)
Join faculty from each department for a casual lunch where alumni can group by major.

1–2 p.m. 
Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way – It’s Never too Late to Plan Your Estate (Festival Tent)
You give your time, talent, and treasure to support causes that matter the most to you. Planned giving allows you to make a meaningful and often transformational gift in a way that you never thought possible. At this informal “drop-in” reception, meet Steve Tanenbaum. Bring your questions, receive free information, and learn how you can make a difference at Harvey Mudd College.

1–3 p.m. 
Hixon Center for Climate and the Environment Open House (Olin 1st Floor)
Come see the Hixon Center’s digs in Olin, chat with students about their research posters, and meet faculty teaching and growing the Hixon Center’s reach. The Hixon Center is leading undergraduate climate program that is solutions-focused, technically broad, and aligned with the mission of Harvey Mudd College. Remarks from Director Lelia Hawkins around 2 p.m.

1–4 p.m. 
The Hive Open House (The Hive, Seeley G. Mudd Building, Pomona, 130 E 7th St.)
Commemorate 10 years of Human Centered Design and its impact out in the world with special displays featuring student and alumni stories. 

1:30–3:30 p.m. 
Academic Receptions (Various locations, see below)
Meet with faculty and hear news and updates about academic departments. Some departments will offer tours.

2–3 p.m. 
Campus Tour for 50th and 50+ Reunion Alumni (North Terrace, Shanahan Center)
We know some alumni haven’t been to campus for a while, so we are offering a special campus tour for members of our 50th Reunion (1976) and any members of our 50+ alumni group (1959-1975). The tour led by current HMC students will give you insights into the new buildings and current campus dynamic in a quick 1-hour tour across campus.

2–4 p.m.
Makerspace Hours (McGregor Computer Science Center, first floor)
Visit the HMC Makerspace: our 8,000 sq. ft., student-run facility to see where the 7C community comes together to create. Serving over 1,200 members annually, the Makerspace provides the tools and resources for everything from high-tech electronics to 3-D printing and sewing and mending tools. Faculty, staff and student stewards will be on hand to answer questions. Note: Please be cautious of student projects in the Makerspace.

2–3 p.m.
Machine Shop Open House (Olin Basement)
Harvey Mudd College’s Jude and Eileen Laspa Machine Shop offers opportunities for students to turn ideas into reality. Visit the HMC machine shop, hear from our stewards, and if you haven’t been down there in awhile, be amazed at the large windows! Note: Close-toed shoes are required. Please be cautious of student projects in the machine shop area. Students will be working on their final projects of the semester, so if you are unsure if something you see is being worked-on or not, please do not touch.

3–4 p.m.
Empathetic Listening Workshop (The Hive, Seeley G. Mudd Building, Pomona, 130 E 7th St.)
In a world desperately in need of more and better listeners, this design-thinking superpower can help! Join us to learn and practice empathetic listening to better understand and deeply connect with anyone, from people you love to strangers you’ve just met.

3:30–5 p.m. 
3-C Wine Tasting $ (Brant Clock Tower Lawn, Pitzer Campus)
Enjoy wine produced by alumni from Mudd, Scripps and Pitzer, and mingle with your favorite professors. This year, Scripps is celebrating its 100th anniversary, resulting in the 3-C wine tasting moving over to Pitzer’s campus.

3:30–5 p.m.  
Bates Reception (Aviation Room, Hoch Shanahan Dining Commons)
All Bates program alumni and anyone interested in flying, airplanes and aerospace are welcome to come to this casual reception. Reminisce about the flying program at Mudd, share stories with new flyers, and just reconnect over shared interests.

3:30–5 p.m.  
Entrepreneurial Reception (Green Room Patio, Platt)
All alumni and students interested in networking with entrepreneurs are invited to join Computer Science professor Zach Dodds to discuss the state of innovation at Harvey Mudd.

3:30–5 p.m.  
Biotech and Biomedical Careers Networking Reception (TBD)
Alumni and students who are in biotech, biomedical, pharmaceutical, and all areas associated are invited to this casual reception, hosted by Matina Donaldson-Matasci (professor of biology) and Steven Santana ’06 (professor of engineering). We aim to grow the network and connections of all who are in and interested in the field of biotech.

3:30–5 p.m.  
Pre-Health Alumni and Student Networking Reception (TBD)
Alumni in diverse medical professions and current students in Pre-Health programs are invited to this casual reception, hosted by the HMC Pre-Health Advising Team (Bilin Zhuang, Natasha Santos, and Tony Jimenez). This is an opportunity to build and strengthen connections, gain career insights, and explore mentorship opportunities in the medical field.

3–5 p.m.  
Latinx Alumni Reception (Chicano Latino Student Affairs, Tranquada Student Services, 2nd Floor, 757 College Way, Claremont CA 91711)

Sine-Off Social & Alumni Celebration (Strauss Plaza, east of Sprague)
Officially kick off the start of the weekend with a reception welcoming all Alumni Weekend attendees and students celebrating the last day of classes. This isn’t just a mixer — come reconnect with classmates and support our own by meeting the alumni founders behind featured wineries. Learn the science of their craft and let’s start the weekend with a party that honors where we’ve been and what we’ve built together.

Shakespeare Performance (Shanahan Center Amphitheater)
The return of a classic! Come see the final project/performance of the HSA Course ‘LIT110 – Performing Shakespeare’. The class has chosen to perform “Much Ado about Nothing!” and will decide direction, staging, and all the logistics that go behind a top-notch performance.

7–10 p.m.  
Evening Lounge & Casino Night (Living Room, Platt Campus Center)
Platt Living Room is your alumni area for hanging out and catching up with friends! Have snacks, drinks, and play black jack, poker and/or roulette.

President Nembhard will share current campus news and future plans of the College as well as current events on campus.

IA Labs: AI (McAlister, Galileo Hall)
Harvey Mudd’s Innovation Accelerator Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence (IAL-AI) advance a human-centered approach to AI through hands-on prototyping, responsible software development and interdisciplinary teaching. Three projects were selected for seed funding, reflecting the creativity, rigor and ethical responsibility that define Harvey Mudd’s mission and its thoughtful leadership during a pivotal moment for technology and society.

Presentations by the 2026 Outstanding Alumni (McAlister, Galileo Hall)
Hear this year’s Outstanding Alumni Award recipients share career highlights, reflect on Mudd experiences and reveal life lessons.

Celebrate your first year post-Mudd with your classmates! Those coming back to campus can grab a treat, and catch up with classmates who are scattered around the world.

50th Reunion Medal Ceremony and Photos (Green Room, Platt Campus Center)
Class of 1976 members and their guests are invited to an exclusive ceremony to celebrate their 50th reunions. Members of the 50+ classes (1959–1975) will join in honoring their newest peers. Photos for the classes of 1961, 1966, 1971, and 1976 will follow the medal ceremony.

4–5 p.m. 
50th Reunion Zoom Reunion (Green Room, Platt Campus Center)
Following the medal ceremony, The Class of 1976 wants to make sure everyone is able to join together to celebrate their reunion. For those classmates unable to travel, join us for a class zoom to see everyone’s smiling faces.

5 – 6:30 p.m. 
Alumni Association Reception and Awards Ceremony (McAlister, Galileo Hall)
Mingle with members of AABOG before the Alumni Association Board of Governors presents, on behalf of all alumni, awards for Outstanding Alumni and Lifetime Recognition as well as the Honorary Alumnus designation.

Members of the classes of 1959–1975 are invited to dine together and celebrate the classes of 1966 and 1971. The class of 1961 and the class of 1976 have separate reunion dinner will happen at this time, separately.

Before heading out, join us for a gathering to reflect on the weekend’s insights and strengthen the connections made over a continental breakfast. Exchange ideas with fellow alumni, faculty, and leadership about what is “New and Next” at Mudd.

9–10:30 a.m.
Bernard Field Station Tour (Meet at Festival Tent)
Join Professor Steve Adolph for a walking tour of the Bernard Field Station North of campus. Come see experimental sites for current student research while learning about Southern California ecology. And if you feel like, do some quick litter pick-up to keep the Field Station clean.

Noon 
In-N-Out Burger Truck Lunch (Lawn outside of Linde Activities Center)
We’re sending you off with a California favorite. Free lunch for all alumni and students!
