Adam Pivonka one of 15 Hertz Fellows for 2005
June 16, 2016Senior physicist Adam Pivonka ’05 was one of only 15winners nationwide of the prestigious Fannie and John HertzFoundation Fellowship this year. The Fellowship is awarded foroutstanding academic achievement and for creativity, innovation,and leadership potential in areas of applied physical science andengineering. The fifteen winners were chosen from a pool of 700applicants following both a paper screening and two‚Äúchallenging‚Äù face-to-face interviews.Adam is the fifteenth Hertz Fellowship winner from the HMCphysics department, joining a select group that includes our ownGreg Lyzenga (’75). Adam, who also won a National ScienceFoundation Graduate Fellowship, will take advantage of the fiveyears of support provided by the Hertz Fellowship in his graduatestudies of physics at Harvard University.
