Michael Orrison

Michael Orrison, PhD, is the Kenneth A. and Diana G. Jonsson Professor and Chair of Mathematics at Harvey Mudd College. He received his A.B. from Wabash College in 1995, and his Ph.D. from Dartmouth College in 2001. His teaching interests include linear algebra, abstract algebra, discrete mathematics, and representation theory. His research interests include voting theory and harmonic analysis on finite groups.
Orrison is also one of the North American co-directors for the Aquincum Institute of Technology (AIT) study abroad program in Budapest, Hungary. Designed for computer science, software engineering, and data science majors, the program emphasizes theory and applications together with entrepreneurship and design.
