NotebookLM

Service Description

NotebookLM is a generative AI tool available in HMC’s instance of Google Workspace for Education Plus. It works only from sources that you provide (documents, websites, videos). It allows users to ask questions, generate summaries, create study guides, flash cards, or produce mind maps and narrated slide videos directly from those sources. NotebookLM “helps users understand and analyze complex information by acting as a conversational AI research partner, drawing all its answers from the documents you provide.” (per Google).

Notebooks, or parts of notebooks, can be shared with other users in Workspace.

NotebookLM in Google Workspace (g.hmc.edu) is an approved tool for use with HMC data at protection levels P1 through P4. (See Using AI with HMC Data).

Availability

HMC faculty, staff and students have access to NotebookLM as part of Google Workspace.

Login Page

Go to notebooklm.google.com and log in using your HMC credentials.
