Laptop Cart Reservation

Note: The laptop cart program has been suspended for Spring 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Service Description

CIS manages four laptop carts with a total of 64 laptops. Three carts with 45 laptops are stored on the second floor of the Shanahan Center for use throughout the building. One cart with 19 laptops is stored in CIS on the Sprague 5th Floor to facilitate requests outside the Shanahan Center.

The laptops are dual boot systems; Mac OS 10.10 and Windows 8.1. The systems are configured in the same manner as CIS Lab Systems. Here is a list of all software loaded on the laptops.

We do our best to meet all requests, and have been able to meet all requests so far because faculty have considered how many systems are actually needed, and therefore have been flexible with the quantity of laptops requested.

In addition to the carts, there are three laptops dedicated to the Technology Rich Classrooms (SCTL 2450, 2454, 2460) intended for instructor use.

How to Access the Service

To reserve a cart for your class, please use this Laptop Cart Reservation Request Form or email with your request. Please expect confirmation of your request within 2 school days.
