Retired in September 2025 after 28 years working as a civilian oceanographer for the U.S. Navy (first in Monterey, CA, and then in Stennis Space Ctr, MS). Planning to “slow travel” around the world with my wife Nanette over the next few years.

Submitted notes will also be reviewed for publication in Mudd Magazine (fall/winter–January or spring/summer–August) and in academic department e-newsletters, and are subject to editing, including for grammar and space availability. If submitting a photo, high-resolution (file size at least 1 MB) is best so that it reproduces well in the print magazine.
