The Innovation Accelerator is the engine that brings together collaborative teams of members of the College community to envision and propose bold initiatives that propel the College’s strategic plan, STEM for a Better World.
In the inaugural 2024–2025 Innovation Accelerator, faculty and staff submitted 21 proposals, and the College selected six proposals to advance to the next stage. The six proposal teams presented their projects to the community and external stakeholders at the College’s first Innovation Showcase on April 4, 2025. Ultimately, three projects were selected to receive funding and put their plans into action as Innovation Accelerator Laboratories.
As a key component of Harvey Mudd’s strategic planning goal on Innovation Education, the College envisions the Innovation Accelerator as a long-term center of excellence that cultivates and drives forward-thinking possibilities for Harvey Mudd while also fostering philanthropic partnerships to propel us into the future.

On April 4, 2025, Harvey Mudd held its inaugural Innovation Showcase. Six proposals were advanced to the second stage to raise additional funding. These teams, consisting of faculty and staff collaborators, presented their proposals to the community and external stakeholders, and three projects were chosen to continue as Innovation Accelerator Laboratories.
