Davies Engineering Prize

The Department annually awards the Davies Engineering Prize to recognize outstanding performance by a student in E4:  Introduction to Engineering Design.

Alford-Gilkeson Award

This award is given to recognize outstanding performance by a junior in Clinic.  The award is named in honor of the originators of the Engineering Clinic, Professors Emeriti Jack Alford and Mack Gilkeson.

J. R. Phillips Award

This is awarded to a sophomore who best demonstrated outstanding experimental technique and engineering judgment.

Harry E. Williams Mechanics Prize

This prize is awarded to a graduating senior who has demonstrated noteworthy achievement in applying mechanics to engineering problems.  The prize is named in honor of one of the founding faculty of the Department of Engineering, Professor Emeritus Harry E. Williams

Frederick N. Holliday Leadership Award

This award recognizes an Engineering student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in the Engineering Clinic program, usually while acting in the capacity of Team Leader of a Clinic team.

Johnson Excellence in Engineering Award

This award is to be given to a graduating senior who demonstrates clarity in approach to problem solving, interest in entrepreneurship, and a drive and ability to complete tasks.

Eugene H. Kopp Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a need-based student who is planning a career in engineering with an emphasis in systems, controls, communications, electronics or other fields related to electrical engineering, and who also shows an interest in aeronautics or aviation.

William P. Wiesmann Clinic Award

This award is to be given to the student who demonstrates the highest level of technical competency in the Clinic Program.

Carl J. Baumgaertner Award

This award is to be given to a graduating senior for demonstrated capability in electronics and electronics engineering.

T. Larry Norin Memorial Scholarship

This award is to be given to the student who best demonstrates an interest and practice of radio frequency communications engineering or related fields at the highest levels.

Sedat Serdengecti Systems Engineering Award

This award is to be given to a graduating senior each year who has demonstrated outstanding performance in the Systems Engineering sequence. The recipient will demonstrate the academic rigor, integrity and high standards that Professor Serdengecti exemplified through his work at Harvey Mudd College.
