Homework Hotline

Homework Hotline Update 2025
The Homework Hotline program has been permanently closed.
Since 2010, Homework Hotline has offered free math and science tutoring to students in grades 4–12 across Southern California that was both over the phone and chat. For 15 years, it was more than a phone line, but it was a commitment to educational access, equity, and community care. Thousands of families, students, alumni, and educators helped keep this work alive, and we are deeply grateful for every call, referral, and partnership that made Homework Hotline possible.
After extensive reflection, research, and community conversations, we recognized that while the need for academic support remains strong, students today are looking for help in ways that differ from when Homework Hotline first began. Many seek flexible, and tech-integrated support rather than a traditional call-in or chat model. With this in mind, the Homework Hotline has concluded, and Harvey Mudd College will continue to explore new ways of supporting K–12 students in our community.
