The Nathaniel Davis Prize for Public Policy & International Relations

The Nathaniel Davis Prize for Public Policy & International Relations was established by Howard C. Deshong III ’89 and Jeannette Deshong in honor and memory of the late Nathaniel Davis, HMC Professor Emeritus of Political Science, will enable HMC student who have an interest in public policy and/or international relations to pursue their interest more formally through a summer experiential learning experience nationally or abroad. The stipend award is up to $7,000 and meant to help offset incidental expenses (travel, housing, commuter costs, etc.)

Requirements

• Unpaid or low-paying internship
• Minimum of 240 hours of supervised work
• Domestic or international companies (small- to medium-sized) or non-profit organizations

Sustainable Claremont

The organization’s mission is to assess the state of Claremont’s active transportation infrastructure in order to share its findings with community leaders and ultimately promote public awareness and infrastructure improvement. The proposed project entails a transportation needs assessment of underrepresented populations in Claremont to help city officials adopt an equitable and inclusive approach to sustainable transportation planning.
