Innovation Accelerator Laboratory for Data Science and Social Impact
The Innovation Accelerator Laboratory for Data Science and Social Impact will establish Harvey Mudd as a national hub for using data science to address real-world societal challenges. The lab connects students, researchers, and community-based organizations (CBOs) through partnerships, data-thons, and collaborative research focused on climate resilience, public health, education, and equity. By advancing interdisciplinary research and creating research-to-action pathways, the lab equips students and practitioners alike with the technical and ethical tools needed to co-create data-informed solutions that make a meaningful impact.
This initiative also supports curricular development, data literacy training for partners, and the creation of open-access tools and datasets, helping inspire a new generation of socially engaged data scientists.
