For Families of Admitted Students

Welcome, families of admitted Harvey Mudd students!

We are beyond excited to have your family become a part of the Harvey Mudd College community.

Your student’s application stood out to us as reflecting the intellectual ability, creative spirit, and commitment to community we value. We know that at Harvey Mudd your student will find others who share their love of learning and who will challenge and excite them.

Harvey Mudd is an academic environment unlike no other. With an 8-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio, our world-renowned faculty are committed to teaching and mentoring your undergraduate while s/he is a member of the College student body and beyond.

Harvey Mudd College believes our students best learn science and engineering through actual practice – working to solve real-world problems and conducting high-level research. Our innovative curriculum incorporates experiential learning from the beginning and offers our students hands-on laboratory and field experience usually reserved for graduate students. In addition, to on-campus research opportunities, the Clinic Program, is an extraordinary collaboration between industry and Harvey Mudd College, that engages juniors and seniors in the solution of real-world technical problems for industrial clients such as Boeing, DirecTV, Warner Brothers and Microsoft.

The small student population of Harvey Mudd College allows for a close-knit, supportive and fun-loving social environment for students from all backgrounds and experiences. Our Division of Student Affairs coordinates programs, facilities, resources and support services compatible with Harvey Mudd College’s academic mission to enhance students’ learning and growth. The dean of students office also coordinates Orientation (which will begin on August 26, 2020) and International Student Orientation (dates to be announced soon).

Finally, as a member of the The Claremont Colleges your student is not only able to take courses at six other prestigious institutions of higher education, but are also encouraged to take advantage of a vast array of support services such as  the Chaplains Office and Student Health and Counseling. The Campus Safety department works with each institution to ensure the safety and security of all members of the Claremont community.
