Galileo Renovation and Libra Deck Replacement

Project Overview

Phase three of the vacated space project will take place between May 2016 and April 2017. Renovation of the Galileo auditoria is the primary purpose of phase three. The auditoria, lobby and ancillary rooms will be completely demolished and replaced with a modern facility, while retaining a similar function and feel of the beloved Galileo Hall. Construction will begin the day after commencement in May 2016 and continue throughout the 2016–2017 academic year.

A parallel project will be taking place above Galileo Hall during summer 2016. The Libra deck will be replaced and new waterproofing installed. In addition, the covered walkway arcade will receive new roofing, lighting and wireless access points. This portion of construction will begin the day after commencement in May 2016, and be completed by August for the start of the 2016–2017 fall semester.
