Ettinger Fund: Small Grants

Thanks to a generous gift from the Ettinger family, the HMC IDEA (IDEA: Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Access) Committee is pleased to offer small grants to support activities and projects that advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice on campus. Small grants can be awarded to students, staff and/or faculty that are working towards inclusive programming and events that promote diversity. Grants are designed to provide flexible funding that can be used for new ideas or to support established projects looking to expand their impact.

Eligible Activities

  • Reimbursement for meals or gatherings that foster cross-cultural connections
  • Support for activities that build community and educate students; ex: on-campus activities or trips to local, cultural landmarks
  • Books, films, or other activities related to building skills or knowledge around diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice
  • Conferences or trainings related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice
  • Assistance with access to professional development opportunities
  • Honorarium for a visiting speaker

We actively seek projects that embrace intersectionality and support and amplify underrepresented voices. If you have a new idea and would like some guidance on how to bring it to life, please contact OID@hmc.edu.

Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis and funds must be spent by June 30, 2025.
