Harvey Mudd Among Top Colleges in U.S. News 2026 Rankings

Harvey Mudd College ranked No. 10 among all national liberal arts colleges in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges 2026, moving up two places from last year’s ranking, tying with Carleton College and United States Military Academy at West Point, and marking the first year the college is ranked in the top 10 category.
In the liberal arts college subcategory lists, Harvey Mudd maintained its No. 13 ranking for Most Innovative Schools, ranked No. 14 for Undergraduate Research and No. 18 for Senior Capstone Program.
The College’s undergraduate engineering program ranked No. 2 among non-doctorate granting institutions, moving up one place from last year’s report.
Harvey Mudd’s engineering program was also recognized in the Best in the Specialties section, coming in at No. 3 in mechanical engineering and tying with Bucknell University and United States Military Academy at West Point, No. 4 in electrical engineering, and tied for No. 4 in computer engineering with Bucknell University. Harvey Mudd offers a general engineering degree that emphasizes experiential, hands-on learning and team-based projects with real-world applications.
In the sixth year of U.S. News & World Report’s ranking of computer science programs, which includes both doctoral and non-doctoral granting institutions, Harvey Mudd came in at No. 25, moving four spots up and was the highest-ranked undergraduate-only college on the list.
