At a November event celebrating cutting-edge communications programs, Harvey Mudd College received two top awards from the Inland Empire Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.

Celebrating professionalism and success, the Polaris Awards represent the highest standards of performance in the public relations and communications professions within the Inland Empire. The College’s Office of Communications and Marketing team won Polaris Awards in the Brochure/Flyer category for a comic book-inspired Office of Admission viewbook and in the Innovative Communication category for an Office of Annual Giving Pi Day campaign.

“I am so proud of our extraordinary communications and marketing team for receiving these top awards,” says Stephanie Graham, acting chief communications officer. “This achievement is a testament to their exceptional talent, dedication and collaborative spirit. Together, with our colleagues in admission and advancement, we are honored by these awards, and this recognition only fuels our passion to find even more creative ways to recruit and support future STEM leaders.”

The viewbook, a promotional brochure that introduces prospective students to Harvey Mudd, was developed to be attention-getting, funny and informative. Many members of the College’s Class of 2027 remarked that the viewbook influenced them to apply to the College.

The Pi Day of Giving campaign raised more than $144,000 from 388 donors for the College’s annual fund. The annual fund supports the operating budget and enables the College to respond to unexpected challenges, seize new opportunities and pursue the mission of educating students to become leaders in their field with a clear understanding of the impact their work has on society.

Formed in 1965, the Inland Empire Chapter of Public Relations Society of America serves San Bernardino and Riverside counties and is one of 10 chapters in the PRSA’s Western District, comprised of the states of California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado and Hawaii. The Public Relations Society of America, headquartered in New York City, is the world’s largest professional organization for public relations professionals.
