The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s and women’s cross-country teams finished 8-0 at the SCIAC Multi-Dual meet Oct. 18 in La Mirada, Calif.

Harvey Mudd College student Zorg Loustalet ’16 won the men’s race, setting a course record with a time of 25:24.9.

Loustalet led the majority of the race and pulled away from John Guzman of Occidental College in the final 400 meters to win by just over two seconds. His record-setting finish broke the 25:47 course record set in 2006 by Will Leer, a four-time national track champion.

The women’s team also dominated their course, with four runners in the top six for most of the race.

Both teams will compete next on Saturday, Nov. 2, in the SCIAC Championships at Prado Park in Chino, Calif.
