Summer 2026 E4
We are thrilled to bring ENGR004 HM – Introduction to Engineering Design and Manufacturing (aka “E4”) for the first time to our lineup of summer 2026 courses!
Summer E4 is a 4-credit, time-intensive, 6-week in-person course that will run from May 26 – July 2, 2026. Space is limited.
The tuition for the course is $5000.
Key Dates and Deadlines
- Registration Opens on Portal for HMC students: Friday, November 21, 2025
- Financial Aid Application Available: February 2026
- Financial Aid Packages Released: Mid-March 2026
- Tuition Due Date: April 1, 2026. Payment information available here.
Important Note on Tuition: All students who have not made payment by the April 1, 2026 deadline will be dropped from the course, and students from the waitlist will be added.
To receive a refund, you must drop ENGR004 HM by the following dates:
- 100% Refund: Drop before April 1, 2026
- 90% Refund: Drop before May 26, 2026
- 50% Refund: Drop before June 3, 2026
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Financial Information
Q: When is tuition due? A: Tuition is due on April 1, 2026. All students who have not made payment by this date will be dropped from the course, and students from the waitlist will be added.
Q: How do I apply for financial aid? A: The application for financial aid for HMC students will be available in February 2026. Aid packages will be released in mid-March 2026, which is prior to the tuition deadline.
Registration
Q: What if the class is full on the Portal? A: If the course is full, you can submit a PERM to be added to the waitlist.
- PERMs will be approved in the order they were submitted as space becomes available.
- Once a PERM is approved, a student will have 2 business days to add the course before we move to the next student on the waitlist.
Q: Can I take another course along with E4? A: No. Since E4 is a 4-credit, time-intensive course, students taking E4 will not be able to take another course at the same time.

Q: Can I live on campus? A: Yes. Please contact reslife@hmc.edu for more information regarding on-campus living arrangements.
