The FAA/Aerospace Corporation Clinic team aims to enhance the performance of the global positioning system (GPS) network with a resilient, progressive overlay architecture. The proposed designs incorporate features essential to advancing civil aviation, including upgraded authentication, strengthened integrity and advanced timekeeping systems as well as new technologies that enable greater constellation autonomy. The team’s findings and analyses will inform FAA decision-making during a study utilizing the Aerospace Corporation’s Concurrent Design Center.
