The MiniMed Clinic project focuses on automating two steps in the sub-assembly of a MiniMed glucose monitoring device: placement of two O-rings and application of double-sided tape onto the sensor base. These operations are currently performed manually and present ergonomic risks to operators. The team has designed an automated system that quickly and consistently applies O-rings and double-sided tape to the devices.
