Global Health Labs, Inc. (GHL) is a nonprofit organization that develops and deploys technical solutions to address global health problems in resource-constrained settings. New Horizons is a division of GHL that researches, develops and implements these solutions. The team has helped design a subdermal pharmaceutical-delivery device that can administer medication in limited-healthcare areas for decades of uninterrupted use. The team created chemical payloads with varying weight percentages of an active pharmaceutical ingredient surrogate (curcumin) to test the viscosity, uniformity and stability characteristics. This product will improve patient comfort and accessibility to long-term, low-maintenance treatment options.
