The Alfred Mann Foundation Clinic Team aims to determine whether an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and auscultation sensor can classify sleep stages and detect dangerous breathing patterns to assist in treating sleep apnea. The team will conduct a sleep study to collect IMU, auscultation, and control data sets. A machine learning algorithm to characterize sleep states and dangerous breathing patterns will be developed; the algorithm will be trained, tested, and validated based on data collected during the sleep study.
