Timothy L. Hussey

As chief communications officer in the Office of Communications and Marketing, Tim L. Hussey oversees the College’s branding, communications, public relations, interactive and print publication efforts working within the Office of College Advancement.

Professional Background

Prior to joining Harvey Mudd College in 2012, Hussey spent five years as senior director of communications and marketing for Emory University School of Law in Atlanta. With more than 20 years experience in higher education and nonprofit communications and marketing, Hussey has worked for a variety of organizations, including Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Agnes Scott College, Southern Polytechnic State University, Georgia State University and Troy University. He is a past president of the Public Relations Society of America’s Georgia Chapter and is accredited in public relations through PRSA.

Education

Hussey holds a bachelor of arts degree from Troy University in Troy, Ala. He graduated with a major in print journalism with a public relations contract.

Additional Information

Hussey has served as a presenter at a number of conferences and workshops on topics ranging from branding to writing for the Web to reaching international audiences through interactive advertising. He is a member of PRSA, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the American Marketing Association.
