Strategic Planning Steering Committee

The Steering Committee will lead and oversee the comprehensive planning efforts, ensuring the effective integration of inputs from the Working Groups — Imagining Harvey Mudd, Academic Vision, and Student Experience —  into our final strategic plan.

Members of the Steering Committee will meet with the chair of each Working Group to offer guidance on objectives, work plans and timing, and help resolve questions or problems that may arise. Moreover, one member of the Steering Committee is also on each of the Working Groups.

One of the primary aims of the Steering Committee is to distill the range of ideas that emerge through this process into a concise set of strategic priorities. These efforts will lay the groundwork for defining the College’s future trajectory and help guide its next comprehensive campaign.

The Steering Committee will draft strategic goals and initiatives based on the Working Group reports.

Suggested Schedule/Plan:

  • Week of March. 4 – review SOAR input; convene and discuss future timeline
  • Week of April 1 – convene and draft strategic goals and initiatives based on the Working Group reports
  • Week of April 8 – convene with the Working Groups to review draft
  • Week of April 15 – update and share draft College community
  • Wednesday, April 24 – Community-wide discussion
