Motiv Power Systems designs and manufactures electric trucks and buses for fleets. Motiv asked us to prototype a stationary energy storage system which uses their vehicle batteries at HMC and evaluate its performance. Our team is creating an automatically controlled energy storage system to power electric vehicle charging stations and smooth the peak power loading of the power grid.
