At MSKCC, researchers use single-cell technologies to study cancer. Despite the remarkable potential of single-cell analysis, biologists have difficulty computationally extracting interpretable biological insights from their data. To address this challenge, we interviewed MSKCC scientists who work with biological systems to identify major roadblocks, and using their feedback, we implemented methods for more effective analysis and visualization of single-cell data into Scanpy, a single-cell analysis library in Python. This project will aid in enabling scientists to analyze their own data.
