MIT Beaver Works and MIT Lincoln Laboratory promote the accessibility of STEM education through hands-on outreach projects, including their RACECAR summer program. Our goal was to design a new, more accessible curriculum and platform to expand the reach and scale of the RACECAR program. To that end, we developed a novel small-scale, autonomous vehicle design, extensible software infrastructure, and associated curriculum with supporting materials. Teaching our curriculum to HMC and high school students allowed us to test and iteratively improve our designs.
