Summer Opportunities

Summer abroad is a wonderful way to introduce yourself to study abroad. Many of the program sponsors Harvey Mudd College partners with for semester programs also provide summer opportunities. These opportunities offer students a chance to take interesting language and culture courses in countries all around the world!

Location | This program gives engineering students the unique opportunity to study abroad in the capital of the People’s Republic of China. One of the world’s most populous cities, Beijing is also China’s political, cultural and educational center. |

Academics | Students enroll in 3 courses totaling 9 credits: Harvey Mudd’s Intro to Electrical Engineering (3 credits), China in Transformation (3 credits) and Chinese language (3 credits). The Chinese language and culture courses are taught by CSI staff, and the E84 course is taught by Harvey Mudd Professor Ruye Wang. The program is located on the campus of Peking University, a major research institution and one of the top universities in the world. Classroom learning is supplemented by weekend excursions and study trips. |
