The phases of plan development are included in the timeline below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">November\/December 2023: Preparatory Phase<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Establish a Strategic Planning Committee consisting of key stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members. Provide charge; define roles and responsibilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strategic Plan Info Session \u2013 Nov. 30. Use the 100 days report and discussion feedback to develop questions; tailor for faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents, trustees and friends.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">January 2024: Community Discussions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Discuss and seek alignment on the College\u2019s values, essence and distinction.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An initial SOAR analysis to provide information to the Working Groups on the College\u2019s strengths, opportunities, aspirations and expected results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two sessions offered\u2014one in-person, one virtual; scheduled after classes are in session. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 11 a.m.\u2013noon in the Platt Center Green Room; Tuesday, Jan. 23, 6\u20137 p.m. via Zoom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">February\/March 2024: Working Groups<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each Working Group is asked to develop a three-page report in response to its charge and focus questions\u2013that reflects the College\u2019s values, essence, distinction and SOAR analysis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sample schedule:<ul><li>Week of Feb. 19 \u2013 attend focused SOAR sessions<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Week of Feb. 26 \u2013 extract and group SOAR input most relevant to the charge and focus questions; convene and review focus questions<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Week of March 4 \u2013 convene and discuss\/prepare preliminary responses to focus questions<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Week of March 18 \u2013 share drafts with the College community for feedback and refinement<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Week of March 25 \u2013 convene and update\/finalize report<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">April\/May 2024: Steering Committee<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Steering Committee will draft strategic goals and initiatives based on the Working Group reports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sample Schedule:<ul><li>Week of March 4 \u2013 review SOAR input; convene and discuss future timeline<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Week of April 1 \u2013 convene and draft strategic goals and initiatives based on the Working Group reports<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Week of April 8 \u2013 convene with the Working Groups to review draft<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Week of April 15 \u2013 update and share draft College community for feedback<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>April 24 \u2013 Community-wide discussion. [Two sessions \u2013 one in person, one virtual; scheduled after classes are in session.]<ul><li>Wednesday April 24, 11 a.m.\u2013noon in the Green Room<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wednesday April 24, 6\u20137 p.m. via Zoom<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Revise the plan based on stakeholder input.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">June 2024: Finalize the Plan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Integrate all feedback and finalize the strategic plan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop a presentation for the board of trustees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">July 2024: Board of Trustees Preview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Present the plan to the board of trustees for initial feedback.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make any adjustments based on trustee feedback.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare for a more comprehensive presentation in October.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">August 2024: Plan Refinement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make final refinements to the plan based on any additional feedback.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop a comprehensive plan presentation for the board of trustees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">September 2024: Board of Trustees Review<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Present the revised strategic plan to the board of trustees for discussion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">January 2025: Board of Trustees Approval and Plan Implementation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Present final version of plan to the board for approval vote. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Begin implementing the approved strategic plan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop an implementation schedule and allocate resources accordingly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The strategic plan was developed over the course of the 2023\u20132024 academic year by the Harvey Mudd College community.
