{"id":8684,"date":"2019-10-14T16:25:49","date_gmt":"2019-10-14T23:25:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/student-life\/?page_id=8684"},"modified":"2019-10-14T16:25:49","modified_gmt":"2019-10-14T23:25:49","slug":"learning-outcomes","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/residential\/learning-outcomes\/","title":{"rendered":"Residential Life Learning Outcomes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Residential life has adopted the following learning outcomes for students:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Students will engage in a diverse and complex community with individual and social responsibility.<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students will be able to recall the individuals they should contact in case of an emergency.&nbsp;<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students will be able to articulate at least one way in which living in the residence halls has supported them in their inter and intrapersonal competence.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students will be prompted to engage in intellectual exchange and to practice effective and civil communication skills in various contexts.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Students will learn to explore their personal identities and form an understanding of self in relation to others.<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students will be able to describe at least two ways in which they promote diversity in their community.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students will recognize differences in each other and successfully interact within those differences.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students will advocate for members of their community and appropriately challenge irresponsible, unjust, or uncivil behavior.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Students will contribute to the development of their community aligned with the values espoused in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/ashmc\/honor-code\/\">Honor Code<\/a>.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students will understand the context and impact of their actions on the lives of others while also observing standards of conduct within the community.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students will practice behaviors that promote personal responsibility, wellness, and reduce risks for themselves and their community.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students will practice behaviors that promote honesty and integrity and will be encouraged to act consistent with those values.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Residential life has adopted the following learning outcomes for students: Students will engage in a diverse and complex community with [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-8684","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/residential\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/8684","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/residential\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/residential\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/residential\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/residential\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=8684"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/residential\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/8684\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/residential\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=8684"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
