HMC students Andrew P. Higginbotham, Octavi Semonin, Sandi Bruce, Clarence Chan, and Michael Maindi contributed to the work, which involves focusing a laser pulse to ( 2 times 10^{19}~mathrm{W\/cm^2} ) on an aerosol of micron-scale droplets of heavy water.
