Below is the tentative schedule of events; check back in for updates and changes. Registration will open in June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Family Orientation 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-regular\"><table><thead><tr><th>Time<\/th><th>Event<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>8 \u201311 a.m.<\/td><td><strong>Parent and Family Check-in and Name-tag Pick-up\/ Move into the Residence Halls<\/strong><br>(Platt Living Room, Platt Campus Center)<br>Pick up family member name-tags and information as your student moves into their room.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>11 a.m.\u20131 p.m.<\/td><td><strong>Family&nbsp;Lunch<\/strong><br>(Platt Lawn)<br>Take a break and pick-up a grab-n-go lunch. Student\u2019s will have their own lunch separately.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>1\u20132 p.m.<\/td><td><strong>President\u2019s Welcome<\/strong><br>(Shanahan Auditorium)<br>Hear from President Nembhard and key members of her Cabinet as they welcome you to Harvey Mudd College. Questions are welcome as you learn more about HMC.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>2\u20134 p.m.<\/td><td><strong>Campus Resource Fair\/Reception<\/strong><br>(Shanahan Center)<br>A resource fair for families to talk to offices at HMC to answer any questions. Offices that will be available include: Student Health Services, Monsour Counseling (MCAPS), Office of Career Services, Residential Life, Study Abroad, Civic and Community Engagement, Wellbeing, Institutional Diversity, Academic Resources, Access, Dining Services, Student Accounts, and Financial Aid.<br>The <a href=\"https:\/\/map.concept3d.com\/?id=656#!m\/559121?share\"><strong>Makerspace<\/strong> <\/a>will also be open for visitors during this time. Head over to the first-floor of the McGregor building to see the space and some of the cool features for our students.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>5\u20136 p.m.<\/td><td><strong>President\u2019s Reception and Family Farewell<\/strong><br>(Strauss Plaza)<br>Join this casual reception with President Harriet Nembhard and share some final moments with your student before they head-off to continue their orientation programming.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Thursday, Aug. 27 (tentative)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A note about saying goodbye<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Beginning at dinner on Thursday, students will become immersed in their orientation programming and will be less available. We encourage families to say goodbye to their student at the conclusion of the <strong>President\u2019s Reception and Family Farewell<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Looking for something to do after move-in?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have time between events (or after your student transitions into orientation), here are a few ideas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Explore the picturesque downtown Claremont area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take a walk around campus with our self-guided campus tour handout.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grab a Starbucks drink at the caf\u00e9 in the Shanahan Center for Teaching and Learning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visit Huntley Bookstore (Hours: 9 a.m.\u20133 p.m.) at 800 N. Dartmouth Ave., Claremont.
