{"id":450,"date":"2024-04-18T14:38:35","date_gmt":"2024-04-18T21:38:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/makerspace\/?page_id=450"},"modified":"2026-10-29T19:40:48","modified_gmt":"2026-10-30T02:40:48","slug":"equipment-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/makerspace\/equipment-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Makerspace Equipment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The makerspace provides access to a variety of tools and machinery, from 3D printers to laser cutters to sewing machines. \u00a0The machines below are the \u201cCore 4,\u201d the most-used machines in the space\u2014to see a complete list of equipment and areas, visit make.hmc.edu\/areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bambu X1C<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mudd2021-two-columns-wrapper two-columns-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-mudd2021-two-columns-column two-columns-column\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Makerspace has 12 Bambu X1C 3d printers available for PLA printing, and two additional printers reserved for special filaments in the Advanced 3d Printing room. <strong>Students are allocated 2kg of free filament per semester!<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mudd2021-two-columns-column two-columns-column\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"240\" height=\"259\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/makerspace\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/63\/2026\/10\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2117\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Full Spectrum PS48<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mudd2021-two-columns-wrapper two-columns-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-mudd2021-two-columns-column two-columns-column\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Full Spectrum PS48 laser cutter can cut and engrave wood, acrylic, cardboard, fabric, and more! They\u2019re used for clothing making and repair, tailoring and stuffed animal workshops, and more!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mudd2021-two-columns-column two-columns-column\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"252\" height=\"209\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/makerspace\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/63\/2026\/10\/image-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2121\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Printers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mudd2021-two-columns-wrapper two-columns-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-mudd2021-two-columns-column two-columns-column\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Makerspace has two large-format printers that can print matte and glossy posters. They see a lot of use printing research posters and dorm decor.
