I was thrilled to hear the news of your selection last year. I&#8217;m sorry that I can&#8217;t make it to your inauguration, but I have asked Belinda Batten to go and represent Oregon State University.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I learned a great deal from you, and I greatly appreciate your contributions to Oregon State and to the profession. And I still can&#8217;t believe that I took you to the Benton County Fair! I have not had a corn dog since.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am confident that Harvey Mudd will thrive under your leadership and continue to educate some of the country&#8217;s finest engineers and scientists.
