Make sure \u201cTerm\u201d is set to the semester you want to look within.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Find out which HSA departmental courses are being offered in a particular semester<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In your \u201cStudent\u201d section of the portal, do a \u201cCourse Search\u201d setting \u201cCourse Area\u201d to \u201cHM Dept HSA Courses.\u201d&nbsp; Make sure \u201cTerm\u201d is set to the semester you want to look within.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">See the complete list of regularly offered HSA departmental courses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/hsa\/program\/courses\/\">HSA offered courses<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Summer Courses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Take one or two non-Claremont summer courses for HSA credit (in-person only)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Read these rules and have your HSA advisor sign off on this form before you take the courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/hsa\/program\/transferring-credit\/\">Rules<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/registrar\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2018\/10\/Transfer-Course-Approval-Form.pdf\">Form<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Take Harvey Mudd or Pitzer summer courses for HSA credit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>No approval needed.&nbsp; Just make sure they\u2019re HSA courses (see above).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">HSA Concentration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Declare your HSA concentration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Email your HSA advisor and they will update your HSA advising record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Writing Requirement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Get credit for the HSA writing requirement with a non-departmental course<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Carefully fill out the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/hsa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2023\/10\/Request-to-Satisfy-the-HSA-Writing-Requirement-Updated-fall-2023.pdf\">Request to Satisfy the HSA Writing Requirement form<\/a>, following all of the instructions.&nbsp;Then email the form to your HSA advisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">See the complete list of departmental courses that satisfy the writing requirement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/hsa\/program\/satisfying-writing-requirement\/\">Course list<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Find out which HSA departmental courses in a particular semester satisfy the writing requirement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In your \u201cStudent\u201d section of the portal, do a \u201cCourse Search\u201d setting \u201cCourse Area\u201d to \u201cHM HSA Writing Intensive.\u201d&nbsp;
