Debra Mashek

Professor of Psychology

I have spent two decades studying how people form relationships with each other, as well as the challenges and rewards of doing so. The base assumption of my research program is that who we are is influenced greatly by our connections with others. My students and I bridge many areas of psychology and other social science disciplines as we examine the complexities of these connections, recently focusing on (a) team functioning, (b) inter-institution collaboration, and (c) relationship processes in romantic partnerships.
