Summer Entrepreneurship Studio <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Harvey Mudd College’s Summer Entrepreneurship Studio program (the EShip Studio) supports a cohort of Harvey Mudd students who wish to develop business ventures, innovations and solutions that are in harmony with societal needs and address grand challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Framework<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Two<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Students work together for a 10-week program to deepen their understanding of an impactful social, environmental, technical or other problem and cultivate the foundational skills to explore the viability of a product or idea through prototyping. Students will also learn to evaluate the success of an entrepreneurial endeavor by its impact on the planet and its people, ensuring the next generation of entrepreneurs from Harvey Mudd are purpose-driven and make decisions that will benefit society and the environment. Each student team is advised by a Harvey Mudd faculty member knowledgeable in the focus area. The Studio will provide students with the opportunity to direct their own exploration, discover their transformative potential and acquire invaluable knowledge and skills to forge their own paths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Thermoelectric Formfactor: JulieTEC<\/span><\/h4>

Created by engineers Marika Ragnartz \u201926 and Sara Wexler \u201926, JulieTEC is a wearable thermoelectric cooling necklace designed for multiple sclerosis patients. With Professor Steven Santana’s guidance, they refined a chain of Peltier junctions and low-power fans that match the cooling of ice towels without the mess.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Human-Computer Interface: CogiLink<\/span><\/h4>

In summer 2025, engineering major Huanhuan Huang ’27 built a novel Human-Computer Interface using flexible armbands whose sensor layout delivers medical-grade action resolution at commercial cost. In the photo, Professor George Monta\u00f1ez operates CogiLink\u2019s first prototype at the end-of-summer Demo Day.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Hotspot Technology: Energy TECH UP<\/span><\/h4>

Amy Li ’28 and Felix Peng ’27 co-developed idealPV, a technology that detects and averts solar-panel hotspots. Advised by Professor Peter Saeta, idealPV was one of the winners of the Department of Energy’s Energy TECH UP award, whose final pitch competition was in Colorado in June ’25.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Digital Platform: MoneyLink<\/span><\/h4>

Alspencer A. Omondi ’26 created MoneyLink, a venture that improves Kenya-to-U.S. money transfers, a rarely optimized route. Through user research, Omondi found strong demand among Kenyan students and families for a cheaper, dedicated service. His prototype app cuts transfer costs to about $5 per $3,000, far below standard options. <\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
