Lape joined the Department of Engineering at Harvey Mudd College in 2005 and serves as the director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/engineering\/engineering-fellowships\/lewis-fellowship-in-engineering-professional-practice\/\">Patton and Claire Lewis Fellowship in Engineering Professional Practice<\/a>. Her research focuses on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/engineering\/faculty-staff\/nancy-lape\/nancy-lape-research\/#membranes\">energy-efficient composite gas separation membranes<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/engineering\/faculty-staff\/nancy-lape\/nancy-lape-research\/#chem-transport\">chemical transport across human skin<\/a>, and engineering education. Professor Lape received a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and completed her postdoctoral studies at the Laboratoire des Sciences du Genie Chimique (CNRS), ENSIC-INPL in Nancy, France.
