This is a guide to transitioning at Harvey Mudd College. Below are some resources on coming out as trans*, changing your name at the College, meeting your housing needs at Harvey Mudd, and medical resources in the greater Los Angeles and Inland Empire areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Housing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Harvey Mudd College has gender-neutral housing available. There are some single rooms available for first-year students. Please contact Karen Sandoval (ksandoval@hmc.edu<\/a>), Associate Dean of Students and Director of Residential Life, to find an option that works for you. You may want to consider your roommate situation, whether you would prefer a single, and ultimately, what will make you most comfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Name Change Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

HMC distinguishes between legal name changes and campus name changes.  Your campus name is the name you wish to be known by on campus. You can read a detailed description of both on the Student Life Name Change Resources<\/a> page. Students who wish to change either their legal name or their campus name should contact the Registrar\u2019s Office (registrar@hmc.edu<\/a>). You can also read more information about Name Changes<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reporting Concerns\/Questions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you have a concern about a deadnaming issue in any 7C system or application, and would like to report it, please fill out the Reporting Deadnaming Issues<\/a> form. The information collected in this form will be accessible by the Deans in the Office of Institutional Diversity (OID) Deans. As needed, OID will share this information confidentially with the appropriate offices where there are identified issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
