{"id":2394,"date":"2025-05-22T09:19:28","date_gmt":"2025-05-22T16:19:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/communications\/?page_id=2394"},"modified":"2025-05-23T10:27:24","modified_gmt":"2025-05-23T17:27:24","slug":"single-showcase","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/communications\/wordpress-how-tos\/single-showcase\/","title":{"rendered":"WordPress: Single Showcase"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Single Showcase is a custom block developed by the Office of Communications and Marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Purpose<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Single Showcase block is ideal for promoting important content and optionally providing a call to action (CTA) to the user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example it may be used to promote:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a giving campaign<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a specific event like commencement or a speaker series<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a departmental blog<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Availability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Single Showcase is available on home pages and internal pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Elements of the Block<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Single Showcase has the following editor-defined elements<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Heading (required)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sub-heading (optional)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy area (required) that may contain:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>one of more paragraphs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>one or more bulleted or numbered lists<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>one or more buttons<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An accompanying image or embedded YouTube video (one of which is required).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Example<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mudd-showcase-single\"><div class=\"wp-block-mudd-showcase-single-image-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-block-mudd-showcase-single-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/communications\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2024\/05\/768x450.png\" alt=\"Placeholder image\" width=\"768\" height=\"450\"\/><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-mudd-showcase-single-content-wrapper\"><h2 class=\"wp-block-mudd-showcase-single-heading\">Heading<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-mudd-showcase-single-sub-heading\">A sub-heading<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-mudd-showcase-single-copy\">\n<p>You can add a paragraph here explaining what it is you are promotiing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A list of points<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>keep it brief<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>don&#8217;t add too many as it will look cluttered<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<span class=\"wp-block-mudd-button\"><a href=\"https:\/\/magazine.hmc.edu\"><span>A Button to Something<\/span><\/a><\/span>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Single Showcase is a custom block developed by the Office of Communications and Marketing.
